9D718
Hard-bearing balancing machine for heavy-weight rotors up to 3000 kg
Maximal weight, kg
Maximal diameter, mm
The machine model 9D718 is a universal balancing equipment of pre-resonance type, which allows to balance parts weighing from 30 to 3000 kg. The machine has a horizontal axis of rotation that allows to work with any types of rotors, therefore the equipment is widespread among representatives of repair shops and enterprises producing parts with serial, small-batch and single-unit production.
The 9D718 can be used to balance such parts:
- Shaft-type parts;
- Disc type parts without their own bearing journals (using a balancing mandrel);
- Cantilever-type parts (parts with most of their weight behind one of their supports);
- Parts or assemblies with their own bearings (when using optional accessories).
The 9D718 has a reinforced design and a high power electric drive system to handle heavy workpieces. Structurally the machine is the same as any other machine of the 9D series, but to increase the efficiency of the machine it is often available with additional modules such as “jacks for shock-free installation of parts” or with an “unbalance correction module”. The electric drive of the machine depends on the customer’s needs. When placing an order you can choose between “axial” or “belt” drive, which will transmit the torque from the motor to the workpiece. By special order, the machine can be equipped with both “axial” and “belt” drive, which increases the versatility and reliability of the machine.
The machine has a lot of know-how that allows efficient and fast changeovers, as well as sophisticated software that improves both comfort and quality of work of the machine operator. Depending on the customer’s production requirements, the balancing machine can be equipped with one of two balancing systems: PB-02M (balancing system based on the modern microprocessor technology) or PAK-1 (hardware-software complex working on the industrial computer with a touch screen).

Industrial Application Features
- High initial unbalance handling capacity – Structural design accommodates rotors with significant initial unbalances including damaged or heavily worn components without machine damage. The robust construction enables large correction operations directly on the machine for enhanced productivity.
- Modular mounting system with spacers – Configurable support structure uses spacers and tooling for unusual rotor configurations. Modular design enables custom setups without compromising measurement precision.
- Own-bearing balancing capability – Support design enables balancing rotors in their original bearings without bearing replacement requirements. This capability reduces repair time and prevents potential trunnion damage during bearing removal operations.
- Disk and shaft type rotor compatibility – Mechanical configuration accommodates both disk-type components (impellers, blowers and fans) and shaft-type assemblies (drums, separators and centrifuges). The design flexibility enables handling diverse component geometries on single machine platform.
- Length-independent rotor mounting – Support design accommodates rotors of unlimited length within belt drive or bed constraints without compromising measurement precision. This flexibility enables handling of extended assemblies including metallurgical rolls and printing equipment shafts.
High Precision Balancing
- Precision roller assembly with advanced bearings – Rollers incorporate high-precision bearings manufactured using patented “exact barrel”® grinding technology. This design provides exceptional rotational accuracy and extends bearing life under continuous operation.
- High-precision vibration sensor – Sensor configuration optimized for medium-heavy rotor applications with micro-vibration sensitivity and external disturbance filtering. The mounting design provides maximum sensitivity throughout the extended operational envelope.
- Enhanced measurement stability for industrial environment – Support structure design provides vibration isolation from external sources while maintaining sensitivity to rotor-generated unbalances. This design ensures accurate measurements in demanding industrial workshop environments.
Mechanical Structure Design
- Monolithic support and base construction – Integrated design eliminates vibration losses during balancing by minimizing oscillation system components. This solid foundation ensures measurement accuracy and structural stability under dynamic loads.
- Hard-bearing design – Low natural resonance frequency of support structure enables balancing operations at reduced rotational speeds for enhanced safety with heavier rotors. This design characteristic reduces power requirements while maintaining measurement precision.
- Simple yet robust functional design – Streamlined mechanical architecture provides reliability while maintaining operational versatility for diverse rotor types. The design philosophy emphasizes functional effectiveness over complexity for enhanced maintainability.
- Narrow stand design with enhanced capacity – Compact support geometry maximizes workspace accessibility while providing structural rigidity for medium-heavy rotor applications. The narrow profile enables installation in constrained environments without sacrificing load-bearing capacity.
- Adjustable roller block height mechanism – Height-adjustable support system accommodates rotors with varying bearing journal diameters from 50-300mm. The adjustment mechanism enables precise rotor centering during machine setup.
- Wide roller design for journal accommodation – Extended roller width supports rotors with varying bearing journal lengths while maintaining stability during high-speed rotation. This design feature enables balancing of both compact and extended rotor assemblies.
- “MICRO-TUNING”® axial alignment technology – Specialized mechanism eliminates effects of axial misalignment during rotation. This technology maintains measurement accuracy regardless of slight rotor positioning variations.
Drive System Configuration
- Medium-capacity frequency-controlled drive – 15kW electric motor with power reserve design reduces acceleration and deceleration times. Frequency inverter provides infinitely variable speed control from 200-1000 rpm with smooth transitions
- Patented “LONG STROKE”® belt drive mechanism – Configuration with an extended stroke capability and only two drive belts can accommodate rotors with different drive surface diameters. This design provides consistent torque delivery while maintaining operational flexibility.
